Q. What do I need to view the online demo?
A web browser and an Internet connection.
Mac and Linux users need to have a Java-enabled web browser. Most versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape have Java already, although their performance does vary.
For fastest viewing, you can install Sun's latest Java technology in your browser from www.java.com.
Windows users can also join sessions without using Java by using the 'Alternative Login' option on our Online Demo page.
Q. Do I need to install any software?
No. As long as you have a web browser and an Internet connection, you will be able to watch our online demo.
Q. How do I start the online demo?
Contact us first to arrange a time for your demo. At the start of the demo we will call you and give you your demo session ID (a short number).
You then visit our website at www.pamsoftware.com, select 'Join Online Demo' (from the 'Demo' menu) and enter the session ID we give you. Press the 'Join Demo' button to start the demo, then sit back and experience PAM.
Q. Can I ask questions during the demo?
Yes. The demo is fully interactive as we talk through over the telephone exactly what we are showing you on screen. You can ask us any questions you may have at any point in the demo and we will be happy to answer them.
Q. I'm having trouble viewing a session. What's wrong?
Web Browser Login: Either your web browser is not Java-enabled or your network firewall does not allow the Java applet to reach your PC. If you use Internet Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options > Advanced and find the section on Microsoft VM or Sun Java. Make sure that JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled is checked. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and try again.
Alternatively, you may not have Java on your PC. To get Java, visit www.java.com to download and install Sun's latest Java technology.
Alternative Login: After clicking the 'Alternative Login' option, if you get a security warning box click 'Run' or 'Open' and then enter 'pamsoftware' as your User Name, and the Session ID we give you over the telephone.
If neither of these solutions works, your firewall may have a high security setting that blocks Java applets. We may need to talk to your IT department to help resolve this, or alternatively arrange a face-to-face demo if you prefer.
Q. Why can I only see part of the demo on my screen?
Your screen resolution is probably set lower than ours (e.g. your screen is set to 800 x 600 pixels, while our demo is usually shown at 1024 x 768).
To avoid having to scroll your window while watching the demo please right-click anywhere on the window to activate 'zoom', or increase your screen resolution by right clicking anywhere on your desktop, choosing Properties and the Settings tab.
